You know that one show where the guys go out into America and get a chance to just drive around and look for things in people’s back yards and they buy them? Then they take those items and sell them? Yes, I’m talking about American Pickers. I love that show!

Recently I learned about a program that Amazon provides for people who want to sell on the web. It’s called Fulfillment By Amazon and it’s probably one of the easiest ways to sell online – if you don’t mind paying for it!

The good news: You buy stuff for cheap in Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS, etc. and then ship it to Amazon. They hold it in their inventory. They market it and then send it to the end buyers for you. Cool, huh?

The bad news: Amazon takes a 3rd of the final selling amount. This means that you’ll need to find some really great prices on items AND then triple their price. That takes a lot of scanning, calculating, and patience! But if you can repeatedly do all three, then this might be a great way of making some income.

Just for some reference, here’s a podcast of SPI in which Pat talks with Jessica and Cliff Larrew about their FBA business. Who thought retail picking could be so fun?
